Every year, I attend KBIS (the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show). In the world of kitchen and bathroom remodeling, that convention center is where the future takes shape.
KBIS is an event where the best of the best showcase their latest innovations in kitchen and bath design, and it’s an industry event I genuinely LOVE to go to. I get to be the first to see groundbreaking appliances…see a fresh new take on timeless materials…and get more ideas on where to take your bathroom and kitchen projects.
This isn’t just about the look of spaces, it’s about how we use them. In fact, I’d say that this year at KBIS, there were MORE implications to lifestyle than I’d ever seen before!!
Here’s how kitchen and bathroom design is evolving today to better serve us in our homes. Get ready to see all my favorite KBIS trends and how to use them in your projects for lifestyle and aesthetic opportunities you won’t want to miss!!

The Top Trends from KBIS 2025
At some point, you’ve seen (or had) clunky overhead microwaves and awkwardly placed dishwashers. In today’s kitchen design trends, we’re working with seamless layouts and appliance integration. That mean more than built-ins and sleek finishes, by the way.
The evolution of today’s home is real…and the changes I saw at KBIS this year will define homes of the future.
Here are the biggest trends I see making that happen.
1: Color and Personalization in Appliance Design
Color is everywhere and has been for several years, and brands like Café Appliances, Jenn Air and KitchenAid are embracing bold appliance hues with more personality than I’ve EVER seen. Whether that means deep jewel tones or full-on color drenching, today’s kitchens are breaking free from dated all-white aesthetics in a major way.
In particular, Café Appliances stood out to me this year. They’re allowing homeowners to customize appliance handles and finishes with whole suites of colors and hardware that are different but at the same time “play nice” together. Meanwhile, brands across the board are making it easier to bring in unexpected hues, letting you make a personal statement in your kitchen. How fun is that?!

The question I always ask is: will this trend last? Some color trends—like deep purples—will fade at some point, but the overall movement toward personalization is NOT going anywhere. Customization is key in luxury home remodels, and the ability to choose appliance finishes will continue to be a selling point…
If you’ve EVER wanted to make your fridge a conversation piece, now is the time!!
2: Wellness Experiences in Bathrooms
Wellness is REALLY big now, and there’s new technologies that makes wellness more systematic and achievable and luxurious in amazing ways. Some brands market “wellness” as a buzzword, but the best innovations truly enhance your daily routine—like home saunas or refrigerator drawers for skincare products. Or how about the Concretti cold plunge tub I saw?!

At KBIS, I saw bathroom setups with warming drawers for towels and chilled storage for beauty essentials…these are simple ideas that make SO much sense in today’s luxury bathrooms. If you’ve ever wished your morning routine felt more like a “recharge” at the spa, this is your time to have fun with an upgraded bathroom design.
The wellness trend is here to stay, but homeowners should be discerning about different products…go for features that truly improve YOUR lifestyle rather than falling for wellness-washing or anything that you aren’t personally into.
But…a fridge in the bathroom? Trust me on this one…once you experience it, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it!!
3: Large-Scale Slabs and Natural Stone Aesthetics
Quartz and porcelain slabs are making a MAJOR comeback, but these materials aren’t just for countertops. I saw stunning natural stone applications in flooring and wall treatments, too.
There are also impressive new options in materials. Arizona Tile, for instance, introduced a quartz that perfectly mimics Taj Mahal quartzite—this is an absolute game-changer for those who want the look of natural stone without the upkeep.
The natural stone trend has staying power, especially as technology improves the look and durability of engineered surfaces. Just picture a floor-to-ceiling stone treatment on your bathroom walls… it’s bold, it’s dramatic, and it’s the essence of cool and relaxing luxury.
4: Maximalism with ‘80s and ‘90s Revival
After YEARS of minimalism, bold patterns and statement pieces are back!! But, they have been for a while. I’ve written about maximalism before. So…what’s new now?
At KBIS this year, Monogram showcased some extraordinary patterned wine fridges that could double as works of art in a dining room if you want. (Just ask me how…I have ideas!!)
Used correctly, this trend can create a high-end feel with something elevated to say. But warning: if you go overboard, it will become overwhelming. The key is to balance bold elements with timeless neutrals.

Maximalism will always cycle in and out of fashion, but the best designs incorporate just enough statement-making detail to feel intentional instead of over-the-top. The wallpapered walls and matching fabrics in the showroom I saw? Maybe too much. But a statement fridge in an otherwise neutral space? Let’s do that in your home right now!!
5: Workstation Sinks at More Accessible Prices
Finally! A high-end workstation sink that doesn’t break the bank. Blanco introduced a composite granite sink with different sizes available…and it’s PERFECT.
In case you haven’t seen one before, a composite granite sink is a game-changer. The material is so durable that this becomes one of your kitchen’s longest-term investments.
You can expect this workstation sink trend to stick around, since functionality-driven kitchen upgrades are now the new norm…and why not? You get more prep space, built-in drying racks, and MANY more accessories that actually make life easier. Yes, please!!

6: The Return of Dishwasher Drawers
Dishwasher drawers are making a comeback, but I’m keeping an eye on them to see what happens. They had reliability issues years ago, and until I hear reports that they’ve been greatly improved and their engineering basically reinvented, I’ll remain skeptical.
That said, I saw single and double drawer options at KBIS, and they make a lot of sense in secondary kitchen spaces, wet bars, and guest suites. (Keep that in mind, vacation rental owners.)
This trend could go either way…it’s practical, but the performance needs to be there. The idea of a compact dishwasher in a master suite coffee station is pretty tempting, though!!
7: The Rise of Induction Cooking
Induction cooking technology is huge—and I mean HUGE. But that’s on a global level, not so much here in the U.S. Many homeowners in our Keller, Texas area and other parts of the country still hesitate to make the switch from gas. But induction cooking heats ç faster, is MUCH safer, and allows for that sleek and seamless countertop…yet some people resist it because it “doesn’t feel like cooking.”
My advice to you is to ditch that thinking and challenge yourself to look at the benefits. That’s what I said to Forbes during an interview last year, too.
All the brands I saw at KBIS this year are working hard to educate homeowners on the benefits, but the transition is still slow. Every client I’ve had that made the switch, however, has said, “Why didn’t I do this sooner?!”
This trend is inevitable…especially as regulations on gas stoves increase. Want to future-proof your home? Make the switch now!!
And by the way…once you realize how easy it is to clean an induction cooktop, there’s no going back!!
Now tell us…which of these trends will define your next kitchen or bathroom remodel?! Whether it’s color, wellness, or next-level functionality, there’s truly NEVER been a better time to create a kitchen or bathroom that truly works for you.
Let’s talk about which trend fits your home best!! Because the future of design is here, right now, and it’s waiting to be customized just for you…
